Madison College, through a Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant Program, brings advanced manufacturing training to you for free!
The Fort Atkinson Madison College Campus is pleased to announce a free General Industry OSHA 10 course to be offered Monday – Wednesday, October 28-30 from 4:00-8:00pm. The OSHA General Industry 10 hour course provides training on the recognition and prevention of safety and health hazards in general industry workplaces. Areas covered include erection of ladders and scaffolds, HASCOM, selection and use of PPE, proper machine guarding and prevention of slips, trips and falls.
Instructor Roy Swanke has a BS in Industrial Education with a minor in Safety from UW-Stout, 30 years of industrial maintenance and construction supervision experience, and is an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer. He worked his way through school as a machinist, and received diverse safety and training experience through his employment at a nuclear power plant, a paper mill, a Great Lakes ship builder, and an industrial process facility. Roy is currently a full time instructor at Madison College in the manufacturing department.
