Job Description
Organizational Background/Mission
The Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit, membership-driven organization comprised of more than 350 business enterprises, civic organizations, and educational institutions focused on addressing the business community’s needs. Its mission is “to promote and maintain a strong business community in the Fort Atkinson area.”
Position Description
Part-time, $15/hour
Reports to Executive Director
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific chamber-sponsored, revenue-generating projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determine scope, budget, resources and timeline for each project
  • Conduct site visits, book event space, arrange food, supplies and equipment as necessary
  • Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters
  • Meet regularly with project committees to provide direction and support
  • Prepare budgets and summary reports for each event
  • Explore, develop and execute alternate revenue sources
  • Enhance and institute comprehensive sponsorship and ad sales packages and plans

  • Fall Banquet

  • Rhythm on the River                        
Knowledge, Experience and Education Required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing, event planning, business or related field
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize workload involving multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively as well as provide solutions
  • Ability to relate to and communicate effectively to diverse audiences
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Results-oriented and willingness to be accountable for measurable goals
  • Capable of maintaining sensitive/confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Additional Attributes
Position has contact with all levels of business member organizations, media, and vendors. Professional demeanor in communication, dress and speech is essential. Must be able to calmly multi-task priority projects and manage a significant workload while meeting multiple deadlines. Must be self-directed and task-oriented. Must be willing to work an occasional evening and weekend, and follow any job-related instructions pertaining to other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
