Racine author Joe Schackelman has been a Journalist for 42 years, winning over 30 awards for investigative reporting, editorial writing and feature writing. Having taught journalism and interviewing skills to two generations of young reporters, he has two published books to claim. One was entitled, "God Lives" -stories of extraordinary spiritual experiences. It was well received.
Now Schackelman has crafted a new style of writing. In "Wind, Sand and Hope" he gives readers two stories -one is the life of a man, who changes from hatred to forgiveness. The second story covers the weekly meetings of the "X-treme Book Club" whose members are also reading and discussing the same book. (It might make you want to start your own book club.) The two story lines come together toward the end of the book producing a powerful and surprising climax.
