Name: Lorine Niedecker Wisconsin Poetry Festival
Date: September 29, 2017 - September 30, 2017
Event Description:

The Lorine Niedecker Wisconsin Poetry Festival offers a weekend full of open mic poetry readings, workshops, presenters, landmark tours, poetry café and round table discussions with Wisconsin poets. The festival is in honor of local Fort Atkinson poet Lorine Niedecker (1903-1970), a twentieth-century, Modern American poet. Living most of her life on the shores of the Rock River in Fort Atkinson, Niedecker is perhaps best known as a poet of place who wrote about Blackhawk Island, the place that she loved. Be sure to stop by the Fort Farmers Market on Saturday for the chalk art walk and personalized poems written by poet Paul Wiegel of Fox River Poetry!
